Shaun Edwards/Master Pilates Teacher of Teachers, shares with you over 30 years of movement teaching, training, and education. From Dance, Aerial Circus Fit, TRX, Personal Training, Rehab and Pain Management, Nutrition and Athletic Training he’s got it all in one cohesive package. Shaun began his highly successful and movement inclusive studio Strength & Clarity in Provincetown 14 years ago, as an education centerfor both teachers and students, with a strong mentoring program under the Mary Bowen authentic lineage.The studio has since been voted Best on Cape Cod several times.

Shuan’s initial Pilates training began with renowned Pilates teacher Heike Yates, and then went on to study extensively with Grand Master Elder Mary Bowen-who he has an on going mentorship with (assisting her at PMA conferences and other continuing education formats)

Hailing from Dublin for the season at Strength and Clarity, Brian has a diverse background in Sports Bodywork, nutrition, and movement. 16 Years as an Exercise Specialist, 10 years personal trainer, Pilates Teacher Trainer and Lead Instructor since 2005. With movement and pilates specific training for many years, we’re thrilled to have him for this season and hopefully many more!

Certified as a Personal Trainer, Sports Physical Therapist, Pilates Trainer, Lead Instructor and Pilates Reformer Certification all 3 levels studied. Graduated from the University of Chestor with a Masters of Science, Nutrition & Exercise. Brian has studied from the Pilates from various international schools and was recognized by Pilates Alluance in 2011 as a master trainer. The Pilates Technique is world renowned as a innovative core strength and flexibility program. His Pilates Education at the Progressive Pilates School in Dublin Matwork levels 1-4 include fundamentals of posture analysis and teaching of group and individual classes

Liana first found her love of pilates after taking a pilates mat class in Provincetown. She then became a dedicated student for many years and was later trained and mentored by Paul Shaun Edwards to teach Pilates on all apparatuses. In addition, she has completed teacher trainings with Mary Bowen and Benjamin Degenhardt. Liana is also a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and has a full time private practice on the Cape where she provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in treating children and teens who are struggling with trauma/PTSD related issues. She enjoys helping people work toward connecting mind and body to achieve balance, happiness & a healthier lifestyle.

Ellen’s first Pilates class was at Strength and Clarity.  It didn’t take very long before she saw improvement in an old back/shoulder/neck injury and she continued classes in Tower, Reformer, Chair and Mat.  Ellen was mentored and trained by Shaun and is now a certified teacher at the studio. She’s also completed workshops with Benjamin Degenhardt. Ellen’s an advocate for health and fitness and enjoys working with clients in those areas.

Prior to moving full-time to Cape Cod with her husband Keith, Ellen’s lived on both coasts of the US as well as Paris and Munich. She’s always been an avid sports enthusiast, studied dance for many years, and skied competitively in college. Her professional career was in publishing and she loves books! In addition to Pilates, she enjoys travel, tennis, golf, yoga and taking her Labrdoodle, Maddie, on long walks!

I have been practicing Pilates and Yoga for 19 years and teaching since 2000, beginning under Romana Krysanowska’s Pilates Inc. in New York City and continuing my education under her teacher trainer Leah Chaback-Katz. As Romana learned directly from the originator, Joseph Pilates (and was his chosen successor) the training and standards were of the highest order. My continuing education under Power Pilates master trainer includes: advanced Cadillac, barrels, chair, tower, alignment and gait analysis, advanced reformer on the mat and pilates anatomy. I also attend workshops regularly with Blossom Leilani Crawford of Bridge Pilates, of Kathy Grant lineage. I recently finished the 360 degree Pilates training with Benjamin Degenhardt, and have begun Mejo Wiggin’s Classical Syllabus for additional input on the Classical system true to the unparalleled knowledge base of Romana Kryzanwoska.

Having opened and owned several movement studios in Dutchess and Columbia counties, and teaching seasonally at Strength and Clarity in Provincetown Cape Cod, my constant interest in continuing education has led me to pursue training in a variety of directions.  Thai massage level 1 at the Royal School in Chiang Mai Thailand, Tom Myers of Anatomy Trains, and Leslie Kaminoff of the Breathing Project in NYC. I have just concluded taking Irene Dowd’s full yearlong anatomy course, such an experience.

I was privileged to be able to immerse myself in the educational process of the Gyrotonic Expansion System since 2005, having first experienced it at Yoga Moves in 1998 in NYC.  I am now certified in GYROTONIC® levels 1 and 2, in GYROKINESIS® Level 1 and Level 2 Beginner, and am an Authorized Pretrainer in both systems. I do regular refresher courses in all of the prior programs annually.  Specialized equipment certifications include Leg Extension Unit, Jump Stretch Board, Archway level 1 and GYROTONER®

In 2014 I completed my barre certification with Exhale and their exclusive Core Fusion program. Theirs will be setting the national standard, and it was the most thorough and alignment oriented. I liked the idea of working in an upright/standing position as that’s how people live and keeps to pilates principles  I look forward to bringing as much as much continuing education as is possible from Master Trainers of various disciplines to the studio and sharing what i love to do and teach, to more and new people.  I like to laugh, hope you do too.

I first came to yoga through seeking relief for pain in my body. I continue the practice of yoga for the physical, mental and spiritual release it gives me.

My intention as a “teacher” is to help guide each person into their own experience of yoga through movement, breath and intentional awareness.

My classes focus on connecting breath and movement and allowing the body to unwind and relax. My goal for class is to tune in to what the group needs and to invite participants to be curious and explore.

I draw from a spectrum of experiences including Hatha, vinyasa, Baptiste, trauma-sensitive yoga, and restorative. As a nurse practitioner and psychotherapist I also focus on relief of pain and the physical and mental healing aspects of yoga practice. Additionally, I am a Reiki practitioner, Cranial Sacral therapist, and Integrated Kabalistic Healer.

In 2016, I began Yoga For Every Body, a movement in Provincetown to help make the practice of yoga more accessible to everyone regardless of limitations; real or imagined 🙂
