What is Gyrotonic® exercise?

We utilize the Gyrotonic® expansion system® conceived by Juliu Horvath offering similar benefits also derived from gymnastics, swimming, ballet, yoga, tai chi and dance which mobilize and articulate the joints through a series of circular, articulated and elongating movements. The exercises are performed on specialized equipment, designed to allow maximum freedom of movement. The result will give you a greater awareness of your movement as your flexibility, strength and coordination are increased. These exercises are synchronized with breathing patterns, thus enhancing aerobic and cardiovascular stimulation and promoting neuro-muscular rejuvenation.

Benefits of GYROTONIC® Exercise

The Gyrotonic Expansion System simultaneously stretches and strengthens muscles and tendons while mobilizing and articulating the joints. The system can dramatically increase range of motion, flexibility and coordination. The workout progresses through a series of movements that create balance, efficiency and strength through natural movement patterns of the human body. The emphasis is on mobilization of the spine in order to develop core strength that will carry through into everyday life.

Who Can Do GYROTONIC® Exercise?

GYROTONIC® exercises stimulate and build up the connective tissue in and around the joints of the body which is beneficial for people from all walks of life, age groups and health. What is the GYROKINESIS® Exercise?

GYROKINESIS® exercise upholds the same principles of GYROTONIC® exercise, but does so without the use of equipment. It is similar to a dance or yoga class, as it is taught in a group setting, and gently works the entire body through a system of movements that begin on a stool and later move to a mat on the floor. The movements progress through fluid spinal mobilizations to increase range of motion and prepare for more complex movements, incorporating the hips, shoulders, hands and feet. The nervous system gets stimulated and awakened, and the format can be adjusted to anyone’s ability.
